Well - all 9 of these actually. I do think hitting my late 40s, learning about my neurodiversity and just giving less “fs” has helped. But could also be finally finding my true passion and giving myself permission to explore it. The confidence and non-apologetic pride I have now surpasses anything I have ever felt. But as I move towards finding an agent and a publisher, eventually, definitely need to come back to this list and ensure I am aware of it. Thanks as always.

Leveraging relationships is still a huge, huge challenge for me. Raised in that"don't bother them" mentality. But when I do, it's amazing how happy people are to collaborate. Step by step, we grow, no?!

I agree. Step by step to get out of your comfort zone is a great plan.

Thank so much for this article! It's extremely true. I am personally guilty of hesitancy to self-promote and unnecessary apologies. I actually recently wrote an article discussing imposter syndrome as a woman of color in the workplace and how to overcome that. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you again!

I am guilty of the likability factor, that is for sure, and I am still working on that - thanks for this excellent substack.
